By bringing together schools, local leaders, and international diplomats, we ensure that the vibrant history and the tragic fate of the town's Jewish community are never forgotten.
2018 | "The Letters From Beyond" & Honored Guests
The Remembrance Ceremony on September 25th, 2018, was a monumental day of reflection, beautifully designed by Mrs. Vaida Kriščiūnienė and Mrs. Irma Maurienė.
They crafted a powerful dramatic composition titled "The Letters From Beyond," which symbolizes an emotional conversation between the past and the present.
The Script:
"Firstly, the Past and the Present are talking to each other. The Past does not seem to know what will happen later. Then, the voices of the dead are coming from the outside. They are trying to remind the executioners of what had happened. However, the answer is silence. After that, the ringing bell pays tribute to those who are not already among us, but they are still alive in our memories."

2020 | Remembrance Against All Odds
Even in a difficult year, the town gathered for another deeply moving service. The local newspaper Santaka covered the event beautifully, capturing how the community continues to hold this memory sacred year after year.
2021 | 80 Years of Remembrance in the Shadow of Corona
The year 2021 marked a somber milestone—80 years since the tragic destruction of Jewish Vilkaviškis. Despite the challenges and restrictions of the global pandemic, the ceremony went forward with immense dignity. It was a visual testament to the unbreakable promise of the town to keep looking back, featuring an incredible collection of 8-9 stunning photographic moments from the day.
