The Kindergarten
Tarbut (Hebrew) kindergartens
The Tarbut education network, centered in Vilna from 1925, ran a country‑wide system of kindergartens, primary schools, high schools and teacher seminaries in interwar Lithuania and neighbouring regions.
These were Hebrew‑language, Zionist‑oriented schools; in some small towns a Tarbut kindergarten later expanded into a full primary school named for Hebrew writers like Hayim Nahman Bialik.
