"The Economic Engine: 1918–1940"

"Part of the Vilkaviškis Virtual Museum Project — Rebuilding a Community."

After the devastation of the Great War, the citizens of Vilkaviškis did not just return; they innovated. From the first flick of an electric switch to the roar of the town's seven buses, this page documents the professional heartbeat of a rising town."

TITANS OF INDUSTRY (Manufacturing & Production)

"If the Market Square was the heart of Vilkaviškis, the industrial district was its powerful pulse. Here, the skyline was defined not by trees, but by the tall chimneys of the steam mills and the brick walls of the great factories. The 'Titans' were the town’s visionaries—men who took raw tobacco, grain, and oil and transformed them into the 'Vilkaviškis Brand' that was known throughout Lithuania. To enter this world was to hear the hum of modern machinery and to witness the town’s transition into a 20th-century industrial powerhouse.
