The Threshold of Tomorrow: Graduation at the Hebrew Gymnasium
"A graduation portrait is more than a record of academic success; it is a snapshot of a community’s hope. In these galleries, we have organized nearly two decades of the Gymnasium’s history into a digital 'Yearbook.'
As you navigate through the tabs below, you are moving through the evolving face of Vilkaviškis. From the pioneering class of 1922 to the sophisticated graduates of the late 1930s, each year represents a new layer of intellect and ambition added to our town’s story. These young men and women didn't just study history; they were being prepared to shape it."
ROLL OF HONOR
"While the large group photos show the unity of the class, these individual portraits allow us to meet the students one-on-one. We have presented these faces in a hexagonal grid—a 'honeycomb' of memory—to symbolize how each unique life was a vital cell in the larger body of our community.
By isolating these images from the original class groups, we ensure that no name is forgotten and no story is lost. Hover over or click a portrait to see the individual behind the diploma."

3. Sub-Page 2: The Roll of Honor (The Academic Legacy)
This is the most "database-heavy" page for family researchers.
-
Layout: Use the "Year Picker" (Tabs) for the 9 years of graduation photos.
-
Content: Place the formal class photos (like the 1924 one) at the top of each tab.
-
The Diplomas: Place the Atestatas (Diplomas) in a side-gallery. Use the "Hover to Zoom" feature so people can see the rigorous subjects like Latin and Cosmography.
-
The Database: This is where you can eventually link your list of student names to the specific years.
